Welcome to the Global Humanities Faculty Seminars: Understanding and Including Forced Migrants and Refugees: Responses from the Humanities.

Our Global Humanities Seminar will showcase interdisciplinary work about forced migration and arts, narratives, identity, and language. It will show how a humanistic perspective into forced migration illuminates the social, moral, aesthetic, and linguistic experiences of refugees and migrants. The Seminar seeks to galvanize campus-wide synergies among Georgetown students and scholars and plant the seeds for future collaborations that bring together humanities and language scholars at Georgetown with key practitioners and actors that support refugees and forced migrants in the Nation’s Capital.

This seminar series is sponsored by Georgetown University. We will host three events in Fall 2022, the first one being on Georgetown campus and the second and third held remotely. You can find more information about each event and the invited speakers on the Events and Speakers tabs on top of the page.
